Japan visa

Georgian citizens need a visa to enter Japan. Currently, visas can be obtained at the Embassy of Japan in Georgia.

Visa duration and fees

With a tourist visa you can stay 15–30 days, and with a business visa you can stay up to 15 days. Submission at the Japanese consulate is free of charge, and applications are submitted at the consular department.

Visa application process

  • Fill out the application form;
  • Collect the documents;
  • Receive the visa decision.

Main list of documents to submit to the consulate:

  • Passport: a valid international passport that remains valid for at least six months after the planned trip to Japan.
  • Photo: a digital passport-size photo that meets Japanese consulate specifications.
  • Financial documents: employment letter, bank turnover for the last 6 months, savings certificate, tax declarations, or other proof of financial support.
  • If you own a business: extract from the Public Registry about the business (plus company bank turnover and taxable income certificate from the revenue service).
  • Extract from the Public Registry on immovable and movable property.
  • Travel itinerary (tour plan): hotel and flight reservations, travel insurance, and any other relevant bookings.
  • Invitation letter for family, study, or business visits.
  • Proof of employment or study: employment letter or contract, school acceptance letter (for student visas).
  • Proof of ties to your home country to show you will return after your trip (e.g., marriage certificate and birth certificates of minor children).
